Your first visit
Here is what happens.
The hardest part is walking in the first time. So here is every step, so nothing surprises you.
- 1
Park and come in
We are at 307 Smith Street. There is parking. Many people sit in the car for a minute first. That is okay.

- 2
Say hello at the desk
A volunteer will ask your address and how many people live with you. That is the whole conversation.
- 3
We check if you qualify
We follow the North Texas Food Bank rules. If you are not sure, ask us. Most people qualify.
- 4
Meet your volunteer
Someone can walk with you, or give you space. Both are fine. Just say what you want.

- 5
Take a cart and shop
This is the part people do not expect. You pick your own food. How much depends on how many people are at home.
- 6
Fresh and cold food
Fruit, vegetables, milk, and frozen food, when we have them. It changes every week.
- 7
Soap, diapers, and paper
We carry more than food. Most people do not know this until they see it.
- 8
Take it home
A volunteer can help you carry things to your car.
- 9
Come back next week
This is not a one-time visit. Come every week, for as long as you need. No new paperwork.
You never have to explain anything. We will treat you like a neighbor, because you are one.

- 8
Lléveselo a casa
